Achievements within the 23/24 Academic Year

Hi all,

Here I am sharing my first post. Some of the feedback I have received already about my site has been about resourcing and sharing concrete examples of what I can offer your school and what gives me the experience in order to do this.

I thought I would share with you some of my achievements this year which highlight my commitment to ‘grow, sustain and showcase’.

Check these out:

-Digital Leaders for sustainability UK Programme – hosted by Pupils at KCA https://ioi.london/digital-leaders-4-sustainability/  (Autumn 2023)

–> This year I have been working with Islington Council, Chiltern Learning Trust, Leo Academies Trust and Institute of Imagination. We have developed and Digital Leaders for Sustainability pilot group which invites schools on a national level to bring their Digital Leaders together, discuss the role and discuss strategies for combining sustainability with conventional Digital Leaders. Check out the link above for my guidance.

–> We are currently designing our offer for 2024/25

-Pan UK – Edtech Hub Study visit at the school with extensive film evidence and exceptionally positive feedback, attended by Exec from UK Google Education – (Summer Term 2 2023) with newly published footage https://lgfl.net/teaching/EdTech/London-KCA

–> I have been especially proud of the Ed Tech journey here at King’s Cross Academy over the last three years. This most recently epitomised by our Ed Tech Study Tour where we hosted a Literacy Study Tour and welcomed over 20 schools.

–> More recently we have held ‘Technology in Action’ events and showcased our Google Reference School accreditation. Take a look at my resource on Digital Strategy Lead page to give you and idea of our Pedtech approach

-UK Framework for Digital Literacy  https://www.commonsense.org/education/uk/about-digital-citizenship (Ongoing with KCA as Lead UK School)

–> I am a Common Sense Media ambassador, we are a Common Sense Media school and our borough is a Common Sense Media district (the first in the UK). This year, I have helped remap the Digital Citizenship curriculum organising lessons from Nursery up to Year 13. Including a new range of AI lessons.

-DFE Teach Computing Host School for https://teachcomputing.org/courses/CP008/leading-primary-computing-module-1-face-to-face

–> We continue to host the NCCE Leading Primary Computing workshops and support the development of computing leadership and excellence within our local area. I am also the computing specialist within my school.

-Teacher Excellence status for KCA inc. Google + Seesaw

–> I like to support my own ongoing development. This year I have trained multiple schools on Google and continued to develop and work with Seesaw (learning management system) and promote my own material.

–> I have panelled at the Seesaw Equity in Education Webinar and will be presenting at the upcoming Epping Forest Academy Trust Expo in June.
